How GROWNi started
The online continuation of what LEAF did in person
For years, LEAF connected people in person: Talent Guide found mentors for students, our skilled volunteering programme matched professionals with NGOs, and Krúžky brought together groups of people who help each other. We wanted such connections to happen at scale and for everyone.
We originally planned to prepare the platform for several years. Then the pandemic came, in-person programmes stopped and many moved smoothly online. In 2020 we got GROWNi up and running in four months. The skilled volunteering programme became the Volunteering section of GROWNi.

Cooperation between organisations is what LEAF stands on. With GROWNi, it has been true from day one to this day.
DASATO Academy (I AMbitious)
We built the platform together and still work on it together. DASATO Academy students get mentors through GROWNi.
Jožo Kováč
Jožo Kováč (TeamDay, formerly Exponea) helped us get GROWNi up and running and still helps us develop it.
PDCO and regional volunteer centres
Together we built Dobrobáza, the national volunteering database. Organisations posting their first volunteering offer get support from their regional volunteer centre.
DASATO, Rozbehni sa! and Nexteria
With them we created GROWNi projects: content, guides and mentors for people who want to make their own idea happen.
